Coopers has been around for many years, i used to camp there back in the 1970's.
The field is in 2 parts the main one being slightly sloping and containing the shower toilet blocks, a smaller secondary field is to the left of this through a large access gate and this is flatter but you have to use the facilities on the other one. The site has shop, post office and cafe available. Coopers is a fairly carefree site but does have some rules, amongst them is that all fire and cooking equipment should be used at least 1 foot above the grass to avoid damaging it, so pack a small folding table for your cooker.
Opposite the site is the Nags Head pub, once the renouned haunt of the peak district mountain rescue team, within easy stumbling back to the tent distance.
For hikers the site is at the start of the Pennine Way and also gives access to many local walks to Mam Tor etc.
Bookings can be made by phone but mostly its a turn up on the day thing and enquire at the farm house by the entrance, fees are variable dependant on numbers, vehicals etc.
